Summer Discovery and Adventure Await!

Summertime is a season of exploration, creativity, and joy for children. With nature in full bloom and everyday routines on pause, it’s the perfect time for young minds to thrive in a world of discovery and adventure.

At Cornerstone Summer Camp, we blend the magic of summer with the power of learning. Our STEAM-based summer experience, guided by the trusted Creative Curriculum®, offers a whole-child approach to summer fun, ensuring every moment is meaningful and memorable.

Our campers enjoy plenty of outdoor play on our shaded playground, featuring water and sand tables, an outdoor kitchen for creative play, and misters to help everyone stay cool during warm summer days. Beyond the playground, we use the vibrant resources of our community to enhance learning with walking field trips. These adventures may include exploring the neighborhood, strolling downtown, or visiting a local park, creating unforgettable experiences while connecting with the world around us.

At Cornerstone Summer Camp, we offer a variety of engaging sessions tailored to different age groups and interests.

Each session is designed to provide a rich, hands-on learning experience, fostering curiosity and creativity in a supportive environment.

Session Details:

  • Building a Bridge to Kindergarten (alternative 1st session for Fall 2026 Kindergarten Students)
    • Dates: June 15 – July 10 (Closed June 19 & July 4)
    • Duration: 4 weeks
    • Description: Returning this year, this four-week program is specially designed to support students entering Kindergarten in Fall 2026. Children will use the Creative Curriculum to engage in hands-on projects like building with boxes, water play, and exploring simple machines. The program focuses on developing essential kindergarten readiness skills, including teamwork, problem-solving, emergent reading and writing, number recognition, counting, and more. It’s the perfect blend of play and preparation for a confident and successful transition to Kindergarten! Plus, campers can enroll in the other Explorarium Summer Camp sessions to fill their summer with even more fun and discovery.
  • Sand Study Time – Session 1
    • Dates: June 15 – July 2 (Closed June 19 & July 4)
    • Duration: 3 weeks
    • Description: Campers will dig, scoop, pour, and build as they explore sand through hands-on play and discovery. Children will investigate how sand feels and changes (dry vs. wet), where we find sand in our world, and what we can create with it—from roads and tunnels to castles and sand art. The session will conclude with a “Sand Showcase” celebrating children’s creations.
  • Insects Study – Session 2
    • Dates: July 6 – July 24
    • Duration: 3 weeks
    • Description: This session invites campers to become curious “bug scientists” as we observe, explore, and learn about insects in our community. Children will search for insects outdoors, compare the characteristics that define insects, explore habitats, and create models and artwork inspired by their findings. Activities will include nature walks, insect-inspired movement games, and building simple habitats, ending with an “Insect Expo” to celebrate learning.
  • Water Study – Session 3
    • Dates: July 27 – August 14
    • Duration: 3 weeks
    • Description: In our Water Study session, campers will investigate the many ways we use water, how it moves, and how it changes (ice, liquid, and vapor). Children will explore pouring, measuring, floating, and sinking, as well as water engineering through ramps, tubes, and boat-building challenges. This session includes plenty of outdoor and indoor water table play and concludes with a “Water Celebration” featuring favorite experiments and creations.

All camp programming utilizes the Creative Curriculum®, ensuring every child’s comprehensive and developmentally appropriate experience.
