Our Foundations Class is perfect for children just starting school. Using Creative Curriculum®️, children explore various interest areas including art, literature, blocks, sand and water play, music, and dramatic play. Students can be found listening to a story or discussing what we see happening in our environment.
Our experienced staff ease transitions from home to school, help students gain self-help skills and build the foundation for group cooperation.
There are a number of factors that contribute to a child’s readiness to use the toilet independently, including physical development, temperament, and psychological comfort. Children do not have to be toilet-trained to attend Cornerstone School in our Foundations Class.
Students in the Foundations class use the resources our vibrant community has to offer to enhance the curriculum by going on several field trips throughout the year. These include local walking trips as well as trips off campus. Our trips include visits to the library, fire station, and park.
All of our teachers keep anecdotal records and work sample portfolios on every student. Parent-teacher conferences are held twice a year where teacher provide detailed information regarding a students development.
Our teachers are in communication with our families frequently through daily emails containing pictures and highlights of their child’s day.
